In CTbee V1, there was 2 USB port: 1 micro male & 1 micro female.

To program CTbee V1 dongle before usage, it needed to be plugged into your Smartphone USB port. This is why there was a micro-B USB male connector.

The micro-B USB female connector was for easily recharging the builtin battery & powering the phone at the same time.

 

CTbee V2 and your smartphone still exchange data using the USB protocol.

We also have kept a micro-B USB female connector for easily recharging the builtin battery.

 

The same applies for Gollum V1/V2.
